Tower Bridge/Dead Mans Hole

Constructed 1894 | London Dead Man’s Hole actually refers to a mortuary that at one time was housed beneath the north tower of the bridge.

As you’ll probably be aware, the Thames is tidal, and for one reason or another, corpses that found their way in to the river; either suicide, by accident or dumped, those executed at the Tower of London, only a stone’s throw away, were also transferred to Dead Man’s Hole.

Once ‘fished’ out of the Thames, bodies could be laid out to await identification … if possible. The area is now closed off, but still perfectly visible as you take the steps up to the main part of the bridge.

Gibbs Bridge

Constructed 1923 | Sylvania, Ohio
Also known as Xanadu Bridge

Gibbs Bridge has eared a reputation as being one of Ohio’s most haunted bridges.

The Story

Apparently during the 1970’s a bullied boy traveling home on motorcycle was decapitated on the bridge by the Sylvania High School Football team as they wrapped fishing line from tree to tree.

The Legend

Its stated if you park your vehicle on the bridge, with the headlights off and the keys on the roof, then your vehicle will be pushed from behind. It’s also stated that you can hear children cry in the distance.

Update

As of 2025 the bridge is being replaced to make way for a two lane bridge as it no longer is up to code on infrastructure.

Known as the devils bridge for the devil being who haunts the bridge due to a bad deal made with the bridge builder in exchange for their soul.

FYE Bridge

Witnesses claim one of the accused witches who was ultimately burned still wanders around the site of her demise. She carries a bundle of wood for the fire that burned her and wears rags as she stumbles towards her final resting place. Some claim she drops her bundle and asks for help, only for those who assist her to die a fiery death within six months.
